Rosie’s Childcare is run by OFSTED Registered Childminder, Rosemary Brown.

As an experienced mum herself, (albeit to teenagers now) Rosie understands only too well the pressures and the anxiety parents feel when returning to work and leaving their children in the care of someone else.

Rosie is a member of PACEY (Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years) and has worked in the childcare industry for over 20 years, both in Australia and the UK and registered as a childminder 15 years ago.

In addition, Rosie holds a Level 3 Diploma in Pre-school Practice, and is a trained paediatric first aider.

Rosie started her own professional childcare centre for babies and children when her own children were still at school and has successfully cared for a number of children living in and around Cambridge and Waterbeach.  Rosie’s Childcare centre has expanded considerably over the last few years and now benefits from the support of additional, experienced and qualified staff.

Rosie's Childcare centre in Waterbeach, near Cambridge, provides the perfect environment for babies and children to grow and thrive.

We follow the Curiosity Approach philosophy, meaning we surround our children with resources that inspire curiosity, awe and wonder.  We aim to inspire our children to be inquisitive and curious, creating the 'thinkers and doers' of the future.  This is a modern-day approach to early childhood.  Inspired by and bringing together aspects of many childhood theorists, creating a truly unique and wonderful mix, together with the passion of a forward thinking and dedicated team, to offer the very best early years experiences for children.

We subtly integrate the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum into our daily activities; encouraging natural, independent learning and development through play, social interaction, observation, story-time, music and signing.

Our activities and facilities are carefully tailored to meet the needs of the different age groups and we focus much of our attention on creating a positive, warm and family-friendly experience for all of our children.

We also run daily preschool sessions from 9am - 11:30am as part of our normal daily service for children aged 3 and over.

During these sessions children are encouraged to develop new and existing skills in all areas of their  development to get them school ready!

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for preschools and cover activities and subjects such as phonics, shapes, colours, the environment, cultural and religious events, weather, handwriting, health and safety, physical education, food and nutrition, makaton, reading, languages, science, team building, local events, discussion/circle time, alphabet, rhythm and rhyme.
